This course is designed as a skill building program for individuals interested in getting certified as Emergency Responder Peer Support Mentors (PSM).
"Peer Support" offers comprehensive training in best practices and current trends in Peer Support Mentoring for individuals who want to provide services to public safety professionals, firefighters, emergency medical services, dispatchers, medical professionals, and Hospital Heroes.

The course then continues with practical exercises using real case examples examining real challenges Peer Supporter Mentors have faced.

Our experienced instructors have extensive experience in the disciplines of psychotraumatology, trauma recovery, Peer Support Mentoring, how to respond effectively and ethically to crises in the line of duty, responding to suicidal individuals, PSM for individuals with addictions issues, and a list of other crises. Our training staff have extensive world experiences from responding to critical incidents in the trenches. Our training staff are also current or former emergency responders and/or family members of emergency responders.

Participants in this course will learn how to provide Peer Support Mentoring through attending lectures and by practicing with real case examples. Not only will you learn what a Peer Support Mentor is and does, but you will leave confident in your ability to start a program in your organization or to join one already in existence. This is a great opportunity to gain high level training and certification as an Emergency Responder Peer Support Mentor.

Finally, this program can improve interactions with the community by giving Emergency Responders listening skills, cultural awareness, and self-exploration.

Peer Support Training Events will be scheduled as either 1 or 2 day training sessions, depending on the location.
